Based in New York City, business
executive Bernie Mermelstein serves as the chief executive officer
of MZ Berger & Co, a privately held family business launched in
1950. The company was established by Michael Zachary Berger and
Joseph Mermelstein in order to showcase quality watches through a
small showroom off of 5th Avenue. The company began selling watches
to various retailers. In 1970, Bernie Mermelstein joined the
company and focused on growing it by expanding sales and launching
new products and brands. Today, the company sells products in many divisions, which include watches, jewelry, clocks and home décor. The company is currently one of the most
prominent timepiece and accessory manufacturers in the market and
earned an award for being a Walmart Vendor of the Year. Outside of
work, Bernie Mermelstein donates to various Jewish causes for many years. He traveled to Israel with the new
recruits for the Israeli Army and was honored at the One Israel Fund
Dinner. Mermelstein earned a BA in history from Yeshiva University
and a JD from the New York Law School.
